16 October - World Food Day
Today is World Food Day and even though enough food is produced to feed the world, inequality leads to millions of people going to bed hungry. Every. Single. Night. Surely this is not breaking news, but what can we do to make a difference?
We use our social media platforms not only to share with our readers how Institut Montana strives to enrich the lives of our community members, but we also take great pride in using this platform to raise awareness about issues that affect global citizens directly or indirectly.
Covid-19 has not only caused a million plus deaths to date, it has also increased the number of already 820 million hungry around the world. With countries like Congo, Yemen, northeast Nigeria & South Sudan on the brink of famine, it is high time that we join the United Nations and make a difference. United Nations’ World Food Programme, which recently won the Nobel Peace Prize, has been working tirelessly to feed the hungry.
Today, we would like to use our social media platforms to raise awareness about an app called ShareTheMeal which is a United Nations World Food Programme app. This user-friendly app enables people to play their part in feeding millions of hungry children around the world by a simple click of a button! You can feed a child for 0.80 US $ for a whole day! It is insane how little it takes to still a child’s hunger on the other side of the world!
Please consider downloading the app ShareTheMeal and join the Team #Institut Montana to donate whatever little you can because every little helps. Let’s make a difference together!
“Success is not about how much money you make; it is about the difference you make in people’s lives.” - Michelle Obama
